Suena bien pero,\u00a0\u00bfes adecuado?\u00a0\u00bfrealista?\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>Tu superior en la organizaci\u00f3n\u00a0<strong>seguro que conoce bien tus\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00e1<\/strong><strong>reas de mejora<\/strong>\u00a0y puede ayudarte a triunfar en la empresa. Probablemente as\u00ed\u00a0ocurre en muchos casos. Sin embargo, debemos plantearnos la siguiente pregunta:\u00a0\u00bfqui\u00e9n tiene en cuenta los puntos ciegos de tu m\u00e1nager?\u00a0<\/p><p>Tenemos la oportunidad de colaborar en diferentes programas de\u00a0mentoring\u00a0y conocemos de primera mano la reacci\u00f3n de los\u00a0<em>mentees<\/em>\u00a0ante los desaf\u00edos que deciden acometer. Por ejemplo, cuando le plantean a su m\u00e1nager directo que\u00a0est\u00e1n\u00a0pensando en matricularse en un programa master, muchos cuentan que les disuaden con frases como:\u00a0\u201c<em>t<\/em><em>\u00fa\u00a0<\/em><em>no necesitas un master para llegar donde quieras<\/em>\u201d. Y es que resulta que\u00a0<strong>esos m\u00e1nager desconocen cu\u00e1les son sus metas, ambiciones y necesidades<\/strong>. Saben que esa persona est\u00e1\u00a0llevando a cabo su trabajo actual con\u00a0\u00e9xito y, por lo tanto, asumen que nada mejor para prosperar en la organizaci\u00f3n que continuar cosechando triunfos dentro. Probablemente est\u00e9n en lo cierto. Pero, en su subconsciente de m\u00e1nager, tambi\u00e9n esta la idea de que su salida hacia otro departamento implicar\u00eda ascender a otro miembro del equipo con potencial o, lo que ser\u00eda a\u00fan m\u00e1s lento, reclutar a alguien de fuera que precisar\u00e1\u00a0de un periodo de adaptaci\u00f3n y aprendizaje. En general, y sin mala intenci\u00f3n, los m\u00e1nager no tienen muchos incentivos para promover la aceleraci\u00f3n del crecimiento y desarrollo de algunos de sus colaboradores para acometer posiciones m\u00e1s avanzadas. Muchos m\u00e1nager son excelentes y sirven de mentores a su equipo con confianza.\u00a0<strong>No es que tu m<\/strong><strong>\u00e1<\/strong><strong>nager directo no pueda ser tu mentor; es que no deber<\/strong><strong>\u00ed<\/strong><strong>a ser el\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u201c\u00fa<\/strong><strong>nico\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><strong><em>mentor<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u00a0que tengas<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>Entonces,\u00a0\u00bfqu\u00e9\u00a0hacer para crecer y avanzar en tu carrera profesional al mismo tiempo que maximizas tu relaci\u00f3n de\u00a0<em>mentoring<\/em>\u00a0con tu m\u00e1nager?<\/p><dl><dt><strong>1. Identifica tu pr<\/strong><strong>\u00f3<\/strong><strong>ximo objetivo profesional.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/dt><dd>No te obsesiones con cuestiones tipo:\u00a0\u00bfd\u00f3nde me veo en 10 a\u00f1os? Habla con tu m\u00e1nager y hazle saber cu\u00e1l es tu ambici\u00f3n a corto plazo para que, llegado el momento, no le pille de sorpresa. S\u00f3lo c\u00e9ntrate en el pr\u00f3ximo objetivo.\u00a0<\/dd><dt><strong>2. Dise\u00f1a un plan.<\/strong><\/dt><dd>Piensa c\u00f3mo puede ayudarte tu m\u00e1nager-mentor en la consecuci\u00f3n de tu meta:\u00a0\u00bfalgo que estudiar?\u00a0\u00bfalguien a quien conocer?\u00a0\u00bfun curso que hacer?\u00a0\u00bfuna certificaci\u00f3n que obtener?\u00a0\u00bfuna habilidad que desarrollar?\u00a0\u00bfalg\u00fan comportamiento que incorporar, cambiar o desterrar?\u00a0\u00a0<\/dd><dt><strong>3. Localiza un posible sucesor.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/dt><dd>Si tu avanzas y te mueves a una posici\u00f3n diferente, es posible que tu m\u00e1nager est\u00e9\u00a0inquieto respecto a c\u00f3mo cubrir tu rol; por lo tanto, antic\u00edpate y encuentra a una persona que pueda asumir tus funciones de manera natural gracias a tu implicaci\u00f3n y compromiso. Comparte esta estrategia con tu superior. Este gesto muestra que la mejor opci\u00f3n no es evitar tu salida ya que la organizaci\u00f3n gana en t\u00e9rminos de desarrollo de talento.\u00a0<\/dd><dt><strong>4. Tu\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00e9<\/strong><strong>xito es su\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00e9<\/strong><strong>xito.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/dt><dd>El\u00a0\u00e9xito de un\u00a0<em>mentor<\/em>\u00a0es el progreso de su\u00a0<em>mentee<\/em>. Muestra reconocimiento y, sobre todo, da visibilidad a tu m\u00e1nager en su rol de\u00a0<em>mentor:\u00a0<\/em>comparte el\u00a0\u00e9xito; al final, si tu brillas,\u00a0\u00e9l tambi\u00e9n<em>.<\/em>\u00a0<\/dd><\/dl><p><strong>Disponer de m\u00e1s de un\u00a0<em>mentor<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u00a0que te ayuda en diversas facetas de tu carrera profesional es clave<\/strong>. Tu m\u00e1nager deber\u00eda ser un miembro destacado de tu\u00a0\u201cequipo\u201d\u00a0de mentores pero no el\u00a0\u00fanico. Preg\u00fantale si piensa en alguien m\u00e1s que pueda ejercer de mentor para ti; si es as\u00ed, no le abordes directamente, p\u00eddele que te presente y lo haga personal.\u00a0<\/p><p>Apoyarse en un grupo de mentores mitiga el riesgo de omitir\u00a0\u00e1reas de desarrollo interesantes o alguna oportunidad importante de crecimiento.
